| | A Few Things for 06/07 U8s (next season's U9s) « Thread Started on May 23, 2007, 10:20pm » | |
Hi All,
Sorry for the length of this note but I have a few things to pass on.
Training
Although last season has only just finished we need to start getting things rolling for next season. We would like to get something started soon and so would like to hold a few sessions at Cantley park starting with Saturday 9th June. If we could start at 8:45 that would be great. The reason for the early start is that there are a few things we would like to discuss prior to getting training under way.
Our regular 'home' venue for next season will be Hatchellwood. Unfortunately we won't be able to gain access to training there until some time in August, hence the training at Cantley Park.
Subs
The subs for next season will be £80. This can be paid by cheque (payable to Bessacarr FC) or cash. I believe Paul took 2 payments last season so anyone wishing to do the same this year please feel free.
Registrations
We will need signatures of players and parents for registrations for next season along with new photographs for the players registration cards. During the training sessions at Cantley Park we'll be pulling individual players out of training to get the relevant signatures and photographs one at a time (could get interesting).
Teams for next season
It seems that, out of the 3 squads we fielded last season, we had 2 squads that regularly had full attendance ('A' and 'C') and one that struggled with attendance at times and has suffered with players dropping out ('B'). With this in mind the idea for next season has been that we will field 2 squads ('A' and 'B') made up primarily of the two stronger squads from last season and dividing up the remaining players to hopefully give an even number in each. This process (and assuming that all players listed below will continue next season) has produced the following teams :-
Bessacarr U9 A - Ben Hutchinson, Daniel HoneyBone, Eddie Fisher, Jacob Causier, Jake Sadler, James Garrett, Joel Hopewell, Matthew Earl, Max McClellan, Tom Humphreys, Will Morley.
Bessacarr U9 B - Alex O'Malley, Ben Carville, Carl Harden, Chad Turner, Jack Wilson, Jared Green, Johan Southern, Owen Cooper, Sam Geldard, Tom Dangerfield.
The teams may obviously be subject to alterations if, for whatever reason, players don't continue next season and to maintain even numbers.
Coaches for next season
The coaches for next season will be Nigel Garrett taking 'A' team with support from Simon Honeybone and Andrew Morley, and myself taking 'B' team with support from Mark Dangerfield.
Additional Help
We usually get plenty of help from players' parents setting up and putting away goals and other equipment and this is always much appreciated. However next season at Hatchellwood we may need additional help to 'marshall' the school car park particularly on match days. Any assistance in this area will be gratefully received.
World Cup Tournament Subs
There are some subs outstanding for the World Cup tournament at the Dome and I would like to collect the remaining subs in at training on the 9th. I have a list provided by Paul with all players who attended the tournament so anyone in any doubt please see me at the training.
Presentation Evening Photographs
The photographs from the presentation evening have been delivered to me. There is an individual photograph of each player and currently 1 team photo of each team. Prices are £3 for an individual photo or £5 for and individual and a team photo (copies of the team photos have to be ordered). I will bring them along to training sessions at Cantley Park.
Bessacarr FC Festival of Football
Last year Bessacarr staged a 'family fun day' to raise funds for the club. This year it's been suggested that an open air version of the World Cup tournament would be of more interest and therefore attract greater numbers.
The Bessacarr FC Festival of Football will be held at Willow School on Sunday 15th July.
The event will be based on the clubs successful World Cup format.
Refreshments will be available on the day.
Other attractions include: · Bouncy-castle · Penalty shoot-out · Raffle
We will have four small-sided pitches available with the following age-groups taking place:
Pitch 1: Under7s & Under 8s Pitch 2: Under 9s & Under 10s Pitch 3: Under 11s & Under 12s (boys & girls) Pitch 4: Under 13s & Under 14s
Note: age-group refer to season 2006/2007
We anticipate about 180 players being split into 'probably' six teams per competition.
Players should arrive from 9.30 am and the matches will start at 10.00 am prompt. We expect to finish the football at around 2:30 pm.
At the end of the main football tournament, a special parents match will take place. £2 per parent to enter - sign up on the day for this.
We'll need to know numbers as soon as possible so, if I haven't heard from you before I'll be checking to see who's interested on the 9th.
I think that's about it for now.
See you all on the 9th.
Cheers Rob
